Blow Up was an exhibition about contemporary figurative painting and its complex relationship with its sources, in particular with photography. The exhibition used Michelangelo Antonioni’s iconic swinging London film Blow Up (1966) to create a framework through which to address issues of influence, truth, originality and reality. It featured a group of international artists including Hannah Brown, Mark Fairnington, Hynek Martinec, Justin Mortimer, Issa Salliander, Jonathan Wateridge, Uwe Wittwer and Clare Woods.
